Ahmet Polat, recipient of ICPs (International Center of Photography) "Young Photographer" award, is a photographer whose work both embodies and challenges notions of identity. In his autonomous as well as his commercial work, Polat's signature is evident: meticulous in composition, enigmatic in content, and expressing an overall warm-hearted curiosity for human relations. Since 1999, Polat has exhibited prolifically in international venues including Fotomuseum (The Hague), RAM (Rotterdam), FFFI (Frankfurt), and Gallery X-ist (Istanbul). In 2007, he had his first early retrospective at the Istanbul Modern. Polat's 3rd book publication "...Neither Here Nor There..." was just released in October 2008. His work has been published in the French Vogue , Rolling Stone, New York Times, Volkskrant Newspaper and VICE magazine. Ahmet Polat currently lives in Holland.
